Light On, Man, Light On

Chromalux Full-Spectrum LightbulbSome days at the office it just seems like you’ll never be able to see or experience the true light of day again. Those ever present fluorescent bulbs don’t exactly emit a lot of work-friendly light to keep us going and actually end up leading to a lot of eyestrain and fatigue. Fortunately, the folks over at Lumiram have come up with a way to stomp out the bad light and bring in the good stuff. They call it the Chromalux Full-Spectrum Lightbulb and it definitely does the job. The author of Tropic of Cubicle, Roderick Maclean, describes this radiant light source quite well:

The Chromalux simulates natural sunlight using a technique developed in solar-challenged Finland. With the rare-earth mineral neodymium a part of its glass composition, my bulb filters out dull yellow electrical emissions, rendering richer colors with a mood-friendly light. Not only has the glare in my home office been ratcheted way down, but my personal energy level seems to stay high for longer stretches.

It would be a bit cliché to call this is a bright idea, and we generally operate things at Cool Biz Gear at a different level… as in a lower level. So we’re calling this the LIGHT idea for you, your office and your home. If you have any issues with our punny commentary, please refer to our complaint department… Oh yea. We don’t have one. Sorry!
