A Booster Seat to Drop the Heat

In case you didn’t know already, heat is the #1 nemesis for computers. All those fragile components crunching away on data and graphics really get the temperature rising. (Wouldn’t you be really warm after doing a few hundred million math problems?!) The heat issue is only magnified for laptops. All the extra space for ventilation is removed, fans are smaller, everything is shrunk! To top (or bottom, as it may be) it off, the only place to get a decent size fan running on a laptop is on its underside. Making Alka-Seltzer Look Flat

Anyone who’s had to travel for work on a regular basis knows that hopping from place to place can take its toll. One of the worst things that can happen on the road is coming down with a cold. That is, unless you ignore your cold and decide to either entertain your local clients or challenge the fellow employees you’re visiting to see who can party the hardiest. The next morning, not only will you’re cold have worsened twenty-fold, but you’re gonna have a nice hotel room-sized hangover to match. How are you gonna make it to the airport, let alone 4 hours in the air??

Edy Money is in Your Pocket???

No, no, no! Not EDDIE Money the rock star! We’re talking about the Panasonic P900i cell phone along with the Edy money-transfer service. Both are available through wireless provider DoCoMo in Japan. Unfortunately, Panasonic no longer sells cell phones in the U.S., nor is the Edy service currently availabe in the States. While there will always be new phones coming out, DoCoMo’s partnership with Cingular could result in the Edy service eventually becoming available a litte closer to home.

Well-Suited On the Cheap

Warning!! This is not a post about a gadget, but we felt it worth mentioning. Either read the post or move on!

Some of us have the benefit of a casual work environment, while others have to put on several layers every morning to meet our company dress code. If you fall in the latter category, you’re most likely aware of the wide range in both quality and price of formal business attire. And of course, it all comes down to appearance; it’s an impression thing with client’s and other outsiders, while it becomes a competition between co-workers. And if it really is all about appearance, it certainly doesn’t matter if you spent a lot on that fancy new suit, just so long as it looks like you did.
